“Well I want to invite him to Mandy's party and I'm kind of nervous since I haven’t seen him in like a week.”

“Daughter just call the boy and invite him. I'm not raising no scary woman so do what you want without regret just make sure you're doing what's right so that way later down the line you won't be singing your should of, could of, would of’s at the end.” Stacy paused for a moment and then continued, “I trust you to make the right decision about what to do and what not to do. You’ve been doing an amazing job Leah and I'm proud of you no matter what.”

Leah smiled and hugged Stacy again before she pulled her phone out to call Marcus. Before she hit the talk button, she looked at her god mom and smiled while in the same notion asked for privacy so she could make the call. Stacy smiled while rolling her eyes, standing to exit the bedroom. Before she closed the door, she peeked her head back in the room, asking if Mandy’s mother knew about the party. Stacy knew Mandy’s mama was barely home and hardly ever paid attention to the child she had birthed. Leah nodded her head yes in response.

“I know you’re probably thinking that it won't be any adult supervision there since her mama is never home but her auntie will be there watching g mommy.”

Stacy smiled. Though Leah was grown.

“Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking, the girl mama is never around and I’m surprised the fast tailed heffa hasn't turned up pregnant by now.”

Leah laughed and just shook her head, she knew her god mom didn't play nor did she bite her tongue.

“Oh, and don't nobody want to hear your scary ass on the phone anyway,” she said while shutting the door.

Leah smiled and then hit the talk button. She was hoping he would agree to the party because she desperately wanted to see him tonight.

“What's cracking?” Marcus said answering the phone.

Leah giggled at the way he answered his phone and responded with a what's cracking? of her own. Marcus laughed.

“Man, you want to be like me so bad don't you boo?” Leah beamed at the remark, just him calling her boo had sent flutters to her stomach.

“No, I'm not trying to be like you, but I am trying to be with you,” she replied as she started biting on a nail.

Marcus’s eyes grew wide and he stopped counting his earnings that he had just collected from his homie City. The statement caught him off guard. He smiled, licked his lips and thought about how to respond to her comment. Leah continued with the nature of the call after he didn't respond right away,

“So, my friend Mandy is having a party tonight and I’d really like for you to come if you’re free,” she replied as she started biting her nails again.

“I really don’t do house parties boo, but you can send me the address and I'll come to swoop you when you're ready to bounce,” he said as he whispered to his boy City to count up the money that sat at his feet in a duffle bag.

“Okay homeskillet, I will send you the address and hopefully you change your mind and at least come give me one dance,” Leah said laughing slightly.

She removed the phone from between her and shoulder as she started to hit the end button. “Aye Leah!” Marcus called out to her. She looked down at the phone bringing it back to her ear.

  “Yeah,” she replied.

Marcus blew out a sharp breath. He was about to say something that he wasn’t to certain of but he felt the need to just say it.

“About you wanting me,” he said, releasing another sharp breath. Leah’s heart dropped, she wasn't expecting him to reply to her statement from earlier, she held her breath in anticipation.

“Well, I want you too. I've never done the serious girlfriend thing, but I want it with you.”

Leah finally exhaled and smiled. She couldn't hide the excitement as she let out a light scream. Marcus laughed, “chillax boo, we will talk more when I slide through to get you later, and I just might break you down as well,” he stated before hanging up. Leah’s smile was wider than the Ohio River, as she laid back across her bed she couldn't help but feel ecstatic about what the night would bring.

Leah hopped on the phone with NuNu and the girls started getting the night’s details and began to plan what time they would be linking up to roll out to Mandy’s house for the party. Leah had a few things to do around the house before she could actually start to get ready for the evening festivities. She walked into the living room and saw her god mom was laying across the couch reading a novel by Omar Tyree called Flyy Girl.

“G mommy, what all did you want me to do again?” Leah asked as she stood in front of Stacy.

Stacy laid the book on her chest.

“Nothing baby girl, just start doing what you need to do for the party and I'll handle the small chores around the house I got you covered.”

“Now that’s wassup,” Leah said as she leaned down and kissed her god mom on the cheek. “Thank you,” she squealed before heading back to her room to start getting ready.

The party started at 10pm and Leah checked her phone seeing that she had two and a half hours to get ready. She showered and dressed putting on blue Baby Phat jean shorts with an orange Baby Phat shirt and orange sandals to match. She wore her hair down bumping the ends and adding big gold hoop earrings. She slid her gold L ring back on her finger and applied her 16-inch gold rope chain that held and L on it as well. She looked in the mirror and was impressed with her appearance.

Leah headed toward the front room when she heard NuNu talking with Stacy.

“When did you get her Nu?” She asked.

  NuNu looked at her friend.

“Okay then miss thing, now that’s hot.” NuNu piped.

Leah gave her friend a wink.

  “Let's bounce.”

The girls headed for the door and Leah turned back around and said, “love you, g mommy. I'll see you later.” Stacy returned the sentiment and told the girls to have fun and be safe.

“Call me if you need me, daughter,” she also said.

“I will,” Leah replied, shutting the door heading to Mandy’s.
